4 EASY TIPS FOR WHITER TEETH PT DEUX

This particular headshot is straight out of camera. Adina was so serious thru her session, I had to bust her chops a lil bit. After, I saw her pearly whites, I decided to mess with her for the remainder of her session. Totally worth it :D

Full disclosure: I am not a dentist, periodontist, or any other kind of tist.... reviews, evaluations, recommendations are based on both personal experience and secondary commentary. I strongly recommend seeing a dentist or medical specialist that deals in dental/ gum disease. etc. I take no responsibility for any adverse side effects that occur when using any of the methods mentioned on this blog.

In part one of our teeth whitening series, we touched on coconut oil pulling. In part two, we're going to touch on a much newer and slightly more controversial method of teeth cleaning and whitening: cleaning with wheatgrass.

Much less is known about this other than it's meant to be a less yucky alternative to oil pulling:

take a portion of your favorite wheatgrass drink mix,
add to and shake in water,
take a swig,
swish it around your mouth about five minutes,
and rinse.

Easy and less time-consuming, but with all the benefits of oil pulling.. ... Well, maybe.

You see, unlike the feedback given by doctors about coconut oil pulling, there is less substantial evidence to prove one way or another that this method offers similar, if not equal benefit.

Personally, I don't know that this offers the same value as the coconut oil pulling in terms of gum cleaning or teeth whitening. I did find some slight brightening when I tried it for a few weeks, but I can't say that I experienced any major whitening. It may be that one particular brand of powdered wheat grass mix is better to that aspect.

So then, you're probably asking, why is this part of the list? Well, because even though there isn't sufficient information from the medical industry, there is a growing number of regular folk that swear by its capabilities to clean and whiten teeth, not to mention wheat grass' already wanted nutritional benefits when it's ingested.

As far as I'm concerned, the jury still out on this one. There's a lot of conflicting information regarding the value of wheatgrass pulling as a surefire method to teeth whitening. However in spite of my personal feelings about this method, I'm not about to just totally dismiss it. I'm going to give it another go and see if the results change; maybe I need to get another brand....Ideally, I'd like to hear more from the medical professionals that deal with gum disease and teeth health, to see if there is true value to this method for teeth whitening.

So, if you have the time, the money, and the courage to give it a try, please by all means let me know what your experience and your results are.

Additional tip: Cut down or quit smoking- Now, I know this is going to be a tough one for a lot of you out there that do partake, but, trust me, you need to get this done. I smoked from my time in the military in the 80s' till 2014. A long fricken time; long enough to get a good accumulation of tar and other crap embedded on my teeth, which took a toll. Just take a look at the filter on your cigarettes and see how brown or black they look after you took a smoke, and you get and idea of all the shit that is slowly making a home in your mouth. Now, almost 5 years free and clear, and thanks to some of the methods I've been experimenting with, my teeth do not look as brown or nasty AF. I have a ways to go, but I believe that quitting has made a big difference in my smile. It can do the same for you......but you have to take that first step, and kick that habit.
